Can dogs have guava?

Yes – guava is generally safe in small amounts, but the seeds and high fiber can bother sensitive stomachs.

Why it is or is not safe

Guava flesh is not considered toxic. However, too much fiber can cause gas or diarrhea, and lots of seeds can be a choking risk for some dogs.

How to serve

Offer a few small pieces of ripe guava. Remove large clusters of seeds when possible. Avoid guava paste/candy (high sugar).
