Can dogs have limes?
Sometimes – lime flesh is not highly toxic, but it is very acidic and can irritate your dog’s stomach.
Why it is or is not safe
Limes contain citric acid and essential oils that may cause gastrointestinal irritation. The peel and oils are more concentrated and more irritating.
How to serve
Avoid feeding limes intentionally. If a small amount was eaten, monitor for vomiting or diarrhea.
Symptoms to watch for
Drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort.
